Throughout your battle with cancer, you have maintained your passion for life and your ability to make those around you smile. I will forever be astounded by your devotion to prosperity. With this being said, what amazes me most about you Mary is your humbleness. Regardless of the immense battles you have fought throughout every difficult week, day, or hour I have witnessed your optimism shine through. Right now I am sitting at a photoshoot for the BC Felions. There is glitz, glamour, and sparkles for days! I came today to support Mary while she exposes her beautiful self to the camera. It did call for an early morning though, up at 6:45am and outta the house by 7:30am. I'm not particularly a morning person, so naturally I was feeling a bit rough.
Mary is a BC Lions cheerleader, but has also been diagnosed with metastatic ovarian cancer (this means that the cancer has also spread to other parts of her body). Once I arrived at Mary's house this morning to help her prepare for this photo shoot, I realized that she was putting up with way more than I was. She had just gotten out of the Cancer Agency last night at midnight after being there for almost 3 weeks. She woke up feeling extremely ill this morning, and therefore was also having a rough morning. Yet even after 3 weeks of consistent and extreme pain, nausea, and chemotherapy, she wasn't prepared to allow this to stop her from making it to the photo shoot.
Her smile, resilience, strength and ambition is something that should be widely recognized. Her ability to laugh and enjoy life is refreshing. This is only one short example of the strength this warrior displays everyday. Her optimism and drive carry her through each day, which is admired by many.
Despite this, Mary's cancer beholds many hardships. Although she is humble in discussing her adversities it doesn't make them any less real. Mary wakes up everyday and fights a battle, and although her strength is exceptional we believe its also important to recognize the difficulties with her ongoing battle. The financial hardship is only one portion of the everyday adversities that she faces, but we also consider it a framework towards helping with many other adversities. Therefore, we have created this Go Fund Me to help support Mary while she fights this battle against cancer.
Our goal is to fundraise a minimum of $2000 to support Mary and her significant other with the immense financial hardships that they are experiencing. More specifically, we are fundraising to bring Mary's family here from Mexico to support her through this journey, as well as to provide financial assistance for her everyday living.
If possible, we would highly appreciate any donation given. 100% proceeds are going to Mary and her family, to assist her winning this battle and becoming cancer free! Good things happen to good people everyday, and Mary deserves this chance.
