2x Child Cancer Survivor Chance for a Family Fund

Sometimes cancer survivors live to fight new battles that have been left in the wake of the intense and relentless fight to live. Today I am embarking on a new battle, and as it happens this too is a battle for a life. A battle for the life of my dreams and of someday becoming a mom. When I went into remission and then found months later that cancer had returned, I knew I had to fight it with everything I could. I had no choice but to undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).
While I was preparing for the procedure I was told that after the bone marrow transplant there would likely be less than a 10% chance that I would ever be able to have a child naturally or without treatment. The BMT treatment could kill the majority of my eggs and chances of fertility. Having my last meeting with my oncologist I was encouraged to check and see what chances I had, if any to conceive a child in the future. It was so difficult to undergo the tests and wait to hear if I had any chance of having a baby.
Last week I received the best news that I could have. It looks like I have some egg survivors - the fertility specialists said that I needed to go in and undergo an egg retrieval as soon as I could. As each day the health, quality, and quantity of my few eggs will diminish.
I am in my senior year at Colorado State University, after I graduate in May I will pursue a Masters Degree in Social Work. One day I hope to work to help counsel families and children who are experiencing childhood cancers like mine. I am humbly asking for your help. Insurance does not cover egg retrieval and freezing the eggs, and all of the money is due at the time of the procedure happening in beginning of January. The specialist has told me that I need to have $15,000.
