Hi everyone! My name is Camille and I am a full time elementary school teacher. In 2013 I was diagnosed and beat Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Fast forward to May 2023. My fiancé was out of town for his bachelor trip when I started experiencing chest pains at home. His plane landed and we went to the emergency room where they discovered I had a mass in between my lungs. The chest pain was the mass pushing against my lungs and heart. After several tests, scans and biopsies I was diagnosed with Large B Cell Mediastinal Lymphoma. I then began inpatient chemo where I would stay in the hospital for 5 days each treatment. I had a total of 3 hospital stays when I was referred to Mayo Clinic in August to determine what they thought my next steps should be. The doctors at Mayo determined the chemo wasn’t being as effective as necessary. The decision was made that I would need Car-T immunotherapy with the goal of getting me into remission and staying in remission. I will be admitted into Mayo for 2 weeks starting October 9th to begin the immunotherapy. Once I get to go home my fiancé, Terrance will be my full time caregiver until I recover.
Going through treatments and countless doctor appointments I have been out of work since the end of April. My doctor says the earliest I can go back is in January 2024. This donation would help with medical bills as well as monthly expenses for my fiancé and I until I can return to work. Prayers are much welcome! God bless! ♥️
