On August 13 2016 I, Breanna Payne went into the Prince George Emergency Department because i had been feeling some lower back pain and cramping in my stomach for the length of a few hours. I had discussed some other symptoms & concerns of which may have possibly been a bladder infection, or Braxton Hicks Contractions with my bestfriend Chelsey who suggested to me that at that point it may be a good idea to call the Nurses Hotline. I called the Nurses Hotline & was informed to go to the Emergency Department & then I called my mom and told her I was just going to get checked out due to feeling discomfort. Travis and I arrived at the E.R & were then sent to the maternity ward of the hospital to be examined. I at the time was 25 weeks + 3 days pregnant. I had gotten some monitoring and tests taken, blood, urine ect. The nurses then called in my Prenatal doctor to come in and check me out further. As the day went on a bit I began to have heavy contractions that set in really fast and there was no stopping what was happening. As my doctor did an examination she told Travis and I that I was 6 centimetres dilated and the safest way to deliver the baby would be an emergency C-section right away. The shock set in instantly for us both and we stayed strong and Travis kept Me very calm and helped Me through the prep for my surgery. Instantly scary information of the risks of the baby coming early clouding our minds was setting in fast but we stayed focused on getting the baby here as safely as we could. From the time I had found out I was in labour to the time they brought me into the room for surgery was about 15 minutes. We won't go into the details of the operating room but Travis stayed by my side and at 7:12 PM Saturday August 13th our son Mattix Leonard Robert Rose was born. Weighing just 1.5 pounds. Mattix and Me were then air lifted to Vancouver about an hour after surgery. Mattix will need to be in the Vancouver children's hospital NICU until his original due date of November 22 2016 then hopefully we can come home to Prince George Nicu. Our families are coming together and doing everything they can for me , Travis and Mattix. With Me away Travis is at home with the bills alone and unable to travel to see us without help. The cost of living in Vancouver for the past 2 and a half months and a remaining unknown amount of time has been overwhelming. It has been extremely hard on us on our new family, we have tried so hard to not ask for help. Our families has helped so much I could not thank them enough but I cannot continue to be a burden. and only add to to stress, anything would help, please if you can take a minute and donate it is for a very good cause I promise you. We want to stay healthy and do not want it be harder on our new family then it already has been and is, we would appreciate any and all the help we can get to make our current situation and financial stress become a little less. Mattix may have come extremely early but that just means we get to love him a little longer. ❤️
