After a rough year of increased medical costs and unforseen incidents in which my health coverage covers the bare minimum it seems, I have resorted to this. As a single parent with a child that has hemophilia, Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder in which one lacks the ability to clot like a normal person. There is a severe lack of platelets in the blood. One visit to the hospital costs a minimum of $1700.00 out of pocket with premium insurance. His medication is $200.00 out of pocket per fill. I have fallen behind to a total of 5k in outstanding healthcare costs this year alone . Although I have paid much of what I can, this is still what I owe. I am desperately trying to figure out ways to come up with the cash. Trying to get a loan from the banks to pay these costs has been nothing short of a joke. Apparently, they don't offer personal loans if you are using it to pay medical bills. I have had no luck there. I by no means am trying to take advantage of this site, nor am I looking for a hand out. I work for my money and I know most of you do too. The struggle is real and I am looking to get my feet back on the ground. I have hit barrier after barrier when trying to resolve this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. If I make my goal of 5k, I will donate 1k to the children's hospital at upstate university in Syracuse New York when I get my income taxes next year. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and will go strictly to these medical bills. My son Dylan and I greatly appreciate your hospitality and may God bless you!
