January of 2015, My dad, E.J. Ayala, was diagnosed with cancer. Prior to the diagnoses, he had a number of medical issues that caused him to take a lot of time off from work. Since the diagnoses things have worsened and he has been in and out of the hospital. He already had one surgery earlier this year to remove a large tumor. His second sugery is coming up this month, August, 2016.
My name is Damien Garcia. My 5 siblings and I have done everything within our power to help my dad with everything ranging from his financial situation to even the smallest of things, like bringing my 8 year old brother to school in the mornings.
E.J. is an amazing guy and a great father and we have been trying our harderst to make this situation easier on him, however all of our efforts haven't been enough. We still have months of rent to catch up on. Due to the upcoming surgery, he will be in recovery and unable to work so we are also trying to plan for the upcoming 6 months worth of rent. All of his medication costs, along with co-pays and all of the other little medical expenses, have really started to add up too.
We are a really stubborn family and I hate that it has come to us having to ask for help, but we wouldn't ask if we didn't absolutely need it. The $10,000 goal we set is the smallest amount we could come up with, and is basically going to be used on the rent. We will try to take care of the rest.
I love my dad and I just want to make sure that he is taken care of in this really tough time. Thank you to everyone who took the time to hear my story.
