Mia's Fight!

Dear friends, family, and kindhearted souls,

As a physician, we are usually on the opposite end of people coming to us for help and assistance for their ill loved ones during a specific time of need.

Today, I am reaching out to every one of you in a personal time of need for your help and assistance for a loved and dear family friend of mine.

Mia's fight

In a world filled with innocence, life, and dreams, a young and vibrant child, Mia was thrust into a nightmare that no child should ever have to endure. Mia is a 10-year-old who is currently fighting a rare and unimaginable diagnosis of a Cerebral Venous Thrombosis Stroke and Hemorrhage that has left her fighting for her life. This has left her in a critical condition as she continues to fight hour by hour for this tremendous gift of life. I can’t put into words the sadness of seeing this beautiful and vibrant child, who a few days ago was loving and living life to now fighting and battling for her life from one day to the next.

We are reaching out to you, so that together we can be the ray of hope and stand in her corner as she fights for her life. Let's be that support that she and her family so desperately need now and in the near future.

Mia’s story

Mia is just the sweetest 10-year-old anyone can ever meet. She always has a smile on her face that lights up any room she is in. Everyone loves being around Mia because of her loving spirit and her love for life. She recently experienced some of these small joys of life that we sometimes take for granted. She recently learned to ride a bicycle without any assistance. She was so thrilled with this accomplishment that her first words were “What have I been missing.” She was also able to recite her first piano solo by memory and also advance in her swim team recently. These are the things and the moments that her family will always cherish, and we pray that Mia will continue to enjoy these small memories and make even new and better ones in the near future. Her beautiful innocent smile has been temporarily replaced with tubes and IV lines, but together we can join this family and join her in this fight and not let her face this fight alone.

We’re reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea for your help and support in this battle that she and her family are experiencing right now. Your contribution, no matter how big or small can make an incredible difference in Mia’s fight for her life. We are hoping to ease any burdens that may occur by the Velasco family by raising funds, so that the focus of this family can remain solely on Mia and being by Mia's side every step of this difficult journey.
