My dear friend Sarah and her daughter, lost their husband/father, almost 5 years ago, suddenly to a severe case of pneumonia. At that time, she was not awarded any Life Insurance, additional funds, and has been doing what she can to remain as stable and financially sound as possible for her 8 ½ year old daughter Lilly. Last week , her landlord of 12 years, suddenly decided he needed to sell their home before the holidays. With virtually no time, Sarah found a smaller, but very suitable situation for her and her daughter, thus keeping her daughter in the same school district, etc. Due to the swiftness of the landlord’s decision, Sarah hasn’t had the time to prepare financially for such a huge undertaking. She is extremely responsible and debt free, but putting money aside – while raising a daughter on her own - in Southern California, has been an extreme challenge. She is deserving of so much more than the cards have dealt her.
