Hi everyone, my name is Natalie, and welcome to Tails for Hope.
Having travelled extensively, I’ve seen the harsh reality faced by animals around the world when they are unloved, uncared for, and left without shelter or support. Nowhere did this hit me harder than during a recent visit to Lamu, Kenya, where I encountered three malnourished and frightened dogs—left unnamed, unnoticed, and without anyone to care for them.
We named them Peach, Lola, and Fig, and you’ll see them in parts of this video. With your support, they are the first souls I hope to sponsor—providing them with food, medical care, and love. They were carrying around huge amounts of worms in their body before I rescued them and took them to the vet to have them taken out, fed, vaccinated etc. (as seen in video).
Although Kenya is a relatively poor country, for these first 3 dogs, it still costs £50–60 (US$65–80) to feed them, and another £20 (US$25) per month for essential medical care like vaccinations and parasite treatments. These are modest amounts for many of us, but life-changing for the animals they help.
Sadly, in Lamu, Kenya—as in many Muslim-majority parts of countries—dogs are often mistreated or ignored due to cultural norms and misconceptions. While that can be difficult for many of us in the West to understand, it’s a reality these animals live with daily. And it’s a reality I am determined to help change.
Other parts of this video shows my dogs and I back home in London—loved, healthy, joyful. My dream is that, with your help, Peach, Lola, and Fig will be just the beginning. We want to build Tails for Hope into a movement that helps many more neglected animals find health, care, and kindness.
Every donation—no matter how small—makes a difference.
Thank you for watching, for sharing, and most of all, for caring.
With love,
Natalie
