Hi, Everyone I’m fundraising to help my good friend and her family rebuild after a devastating fire.
David turned the heat on this past Thursday to warm the house before he left for work. He received a phone call not 20mins later from his stepdaughter stating the house was full of smoke. As she was heading out the door the whole living room engulfed in flames! Thankfully she was able to get out and call 911! In less then 5mins the family lost everything! Due to a faulty floor furnace this family is now homeless with nothing.
Unfortunately this middle class family doesn’t meet the financial requirements to get any help from DSS or other not for profits. Jane who is a contracted Organ preservationist (saving lives, literally) had to end her contract short when the fire happened so she could come home. She was counting on her pay for just their regular bills not imagining all of this. David who works here locally has had to take multiple days off with no pay to help their daughter deal with the emotional impact of what happened and to help with figuring this all out!
David and his stepdaughter watched as everything they owned and had burned away. She also lost her emotional support animal as we had to board him during this time.
Both Jane and Dave are hard working people. They’d help anyone who needed it. The family has volunteered for years in the surrounding community helping the needy and raising funds for the NPF, mission cure and other not for profits close to their hearts.
Along with the parents, Both kids Arianna (a high-school junior) and Conor (he will be leaving for Navy bootcamp in a few week) have lost everything! They walked away with the clothes on their backs and not much else.
Luckily, the landlord will be rebuilding and the family will be returning. But it’ll take about 3 months until this can happen. So for the next 3 months this family has to find a place to live, replace just basics such as clothes, personal hygiene items, pillows, blankets etc, purchase food, replace very expensive medications and medical equipment.
I can’t imagine the mental and emotional toll this has taken on ALL of them. At this point they aren’t even able to be all together. They have to separate at a time when they should be leaning on each other for support.
On top of loosing all of their belongings, They lost something irreplaceable.. they lost the memorial items of the baby boy they last a year ago!
Please help this family start to heal. To find a stable place to reside all together. Help take some of the burden off of their shoulders. Any donation can help! If you can’t help financially please help by sharing!
