KAYLA'S STORY

Donation protected

This is my daughter Kayla we found her unresponsive on Monday my partner raised the alarm she was blue and lifeless, On the 17th of October 2016 we managed to bring her back to life after approximately 10 minutes before paramedics arrived having to know first aid was vital this night.

Kayla under went major tests and they have discovered a huge grey shadow on the the right left side frontal lobe of the brain. Which she was diagnosed with a tumor on the brain the specialists have told us she had it from an embyro.

At first she was undergoing treatment for a behavior disorder and was referred to mental health because they said it was linked to autism. We knew it was something more due to being around other kids with autism over the years. The doctors failed to listen to me.

I was accused of being a helicopter mum  and was refused a scan numerous times for many years I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. I felt it was something more than ASD no amount of medication would work.

Kayla has recently been suffering seizures. She has lived with it all her life and was only found on Tuesday after tests were conducted by the medical staff at Hospital.

I have always cared for Kayla for 19 years of her life she is non verbal has development delay, autism, hypotonia, and behavioral issues in which are related to the tumor she is in nappy aids. Kayla needs full time care 24/7 around the clock care.

I also hope to raise more awareness for families who have children with disabilities we should not have to fight with our medical system. Because someone is non verbal. It has impacted the whole family including her siblings in every way possible. Not just financially it has affected us mentally and physically.

Since then we have relocated to brisbane kayla had surgery only to be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and it's terminal. She has been referred to palliative care please help us to alleviate the financial crisis we have been experiencing. We are needing moral support and help to raise funds for costs incurred medications special care ect and funeral costs.
