Recently, Lex has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone marrow cancer) which is an extremely aggressive form of cancer. Every day we wait is taking a toll on his pain tolerance and the risk of it spreading. As we all know, vet bills are never cheap and especially one like this... The veterinarian is wanting to amputate his leg tomorrow morning, after they amputate his leg, he will start chemo therapy to try and avoid/stall it from coming back somewhere else. As soon as they remove the leg, he will be pain free. Also, chemo for dogs isn't as invasive like it is for humans. They will ween him off to make sure he doesn't get sick.
I made up my mind this morning that I was going to increase his pain medication and keep him comfortable for a few weeks until he couldn't tolerate it any longer and then would have to euthanize him... but I cannot bring myself to do without a fight. He deserves a chance to fight this. I am putting my pride aside and asking for any help possible to save Lex. I'm not me without him❤️
