A helping hand for Monica
Donation protected
It is with a sad heart that I share the struggles one of our fellow coworkers is facing, Monica. A little over a week ago, the two-bedroom apartment Monica shares with her two young children began to flood. With no obvious source for the cause of the flooding, maintenance looked under the carpet and discovered the entire foundation of her apartment was cracked, and the water was seeping up from the ground. Maintenance deemed her apartment unlivable in its current condition while the extensive repairs were being made. The apartment complex did offer her another apartment but wanted to raise the rent significantly to an amount that Monica could not afford. Monica is a single mom and the sole provider for herself and her two kids. Recently, Monica has taken on a second job at the hospital when she's not working as a hospice CNA to help make ends meet. The past few months have been overwhelmingly hard for Monica financially, and she has been struggling, trying to get her head above water with this being rock bottom.
Monica is the kindest person. I have seen her time and time again going above and beyond to make sure her kids are cared for at home as well as her patients here at work. She does so much for everyone around her without ever asking or expecting anything in return. It would mean the world to her if you have the ability to help her reach her goal and be able to move herself and her kids to a new apartment.
The money would help her cover first and last month's rent as well as the deposit to secure a new home for her and her children. In the flooding, her son's bed was ruined as well as her daughter's desk, and anything left over would go to replacing that as well as any other items lost in the flooding. Anything and everything is appreciated.
