Dear Friends and Family of Leila Baldugo,
I am writing to you because our loving friend and family member, Leila DeGuzman Baldugo, needs our help.
As you may know, for the past 13 years Leila has been living with chronic kidney disease and is now diagnosed with Stage 4 of the disease.
In order to prevent the disease from progressing, Leila will need a kidney transplant and by the loving grace of her family, Cassey and Sunshine DeGuzman are honoring her wish and volunteering to be her living donor. This critical procedure is scheduled to be completed at the University California of San Francisco (UCSF) in San Francisco, CA.
Unfortunately, as a Stage 4 patient, Leila won’t be able to qualify for Medicare Advance, which covers all expenses of the kidney procedure including airfare, room, and transportation. Her private insurance carrier will cover the transplant and pay a percentage of her medical expenses and medications, but will not cover transportation, room and board.
Following her procedure, Leila and her caregiver, Emerson Baldugo, will also need to stay in San Francisco for at least a month for check-ups. During that time, Emerson will not be working and, therefore, both Leila and Emerson will not have a source of income.
Your donation would help Leila and Emerson immensely with their expenses during this critical time. These expenses would include airfares, a two-week stay near the hospital, hospital stay, visits and medications for Leila and her donor.
Please join us in putting our loving friend on the road to a successful recovery by giving generously. Leila’s target date for her transplant is January 2017, which is right around the corner.
Goal: $8000 - $10,000.
Please DONATE!!!
With much love and aloha,
THANK YOU!!!
