Welcome and we thank you for taking the time to read our story. 

It all started in 2009 when mom walked into the hospital for an epidural for pain management and never walked out.  She became paralyzed from a hematoma due to Doctor Malpractice.  Long story short, she bled down her spine for over 21 hours  that night she was admitted.  Mom had a hematoma compressing her spine and it was not discovered until the next morning when another doctor came in the next day, he knew what it was, confirmed it with an xray and then rushed her down for surgery, but the damage unfortunatley was already done.  Mom almost died from all this trauma, she was in ICU, it was a very long haul for us all, in the end, Mom was left paralyzed and on a catheter for the rest of her life. 

Prior to this accident, mom lived alone, she was very independant, she was the life of every party of every family gathering, she would be the first to show up and help set up and the last to leave to clean up, to know her was to love her she would give the shirt off her back, she was just a mom to everyone, very nurturing and caring.  All she wanted that day she walked into the outpatient medical center was to be pain free for an upcoming trip she was going on with her Daughter Diana so she could enjoy her week away pain free.  Sadly the rest of her life was robbed.

 We are asking for help because mom has out lived her finances from her medical care plan from her settlement. Because of her age and health history, they surmised at the time she wouldnt live beyond 2 more years so they proposed a settlement accordingly, but she has proved that not to be true and has exeeded that by 8 years and still going, sadly it wasn't enough for the remainder of her life.   God bless her, she is turning a whopping 91 this July 4th and her mind is still pretty sharp.  

I have been caring for my mother since 2009 when I moved into her home.  My daughter Shaylynn later moved in 2011 to help.   Mom has always  required 24 hour care 7 days a week.  Now with her care plan money gone, there is nothing extra for her to pay out to maintain the upkeep of her medical needs that is not covered by insurance as well as up keep for her home.  The situation has become very stressful, draining beyond words for us all.

Mom is aware all her money is gone, apart from her social security which is already accounted for.  She has been very emotional because she fears having to leave her home of over 45 years and going into a nursing home.  Moms wish is to be in her home in her favorite pink room (we all call the pepto bismol room)  when the Lord comes for her.   I assured her we will do all we can to keep her here in her home and not to worry.

Mom has had a tremendeous amount of support and love on social media since all this happened, you have all been with us from the beginning, in prayer in the most desperate times we were facing, I mention this because those of you that know me, know how difficult it is for me to ask for help.  We cant bear the weight of all this anymore,  not to mention how heartbreaking it is to see mom not only suffering physically but emotionally worrying and crying about her finances.  She has has been through so much, and we have reached  the point that we need to ask for your help.    

What the money will be used for is to help keep mom financially necessitated  in the comfort of her home, cover out of pocket medical expenses as well as her continued 24 hour 7 days a week care she requires  and put to rest her fears of going into a nursing home.

This journey we are on with mom is in Gods hands, who we believe is in control always so there is no bad outcome for us because of our faith, we put our hope and trust in the Lord above anything else.
