September 24th, 2016 Update.
Times are getting harder. The family, all 7 children were asked to go to hospital today. Francisco is having difficulty breathing due to the fluid build up in his abdomen and lungs. The doctors are doing everything they can to make him comfortable. My heart is breaking. It's not just the loss of a husband or father....this family is beyond needing help with no income. AGAIN, my goal is too provide assistance with housing, electricity and the things we all take for granted!!!! Not just a quick fix of giving them money then be homeless in two months. I know I'm asking for a lot but I believe it can happen. My faith is in YOU!!! Thank you all that have contributed thus far. Please continue to pour your hearts into this family. It's very difficult for me. I'm a psychotherapist in private practice but I've never gotten so involved in a situation like this. It's really been too much to bare but I won't stop until you stop.
September 22, 2016. I'm adding story here to update people because I don't know if people will read the lastest update. Francisco has 3 days, maybe up to 14 days left to live on this earth that he has given so much to. If you knew them, you'd understand the humility this family has and how hard they've work to make it in this country. He and his wife Hillaria have worked side by side doing great lawn work for years in my neighborhood. Miracles are happening every day, it amazes me...so please donate and keep the miracles coming for these 7 children and wife. May Francisco be at peace in his departure and let go of worrying about his family not making it without him.
POST from August 26th: Please help this precious, selfless loving family! They have asked for nothing. I'm ASKING FOR HELP for THEM. Fransisco and Hilaria have been taking care of all my lawn needs. In the heat of the summer, 4 of their 7 children ages 5, 7, 8 and 10 yrs old pitched in with zero complaining.
Now the bad news and history. Fransisco got electrocuted in 2008 when pole saw hit main power lines. Dr. said it was a miracle he lived. It damaged his organs more than they would have ever known!! After major surgery where they cut open his entire stomach area to repair damages, he got back to work like always.
Then in 2008, he fell out of tree and broke part of his back. Now he has stitch marks down his front and back BUT again, back to work to support his large family.
Last week they came to work again and I noticed Fransisco's eyes and skin were very yellow. I told them to get to hospital immediately. He didn't want to go because he said his experience with the hospital last time was awful. But they went. He is now in ICU with many complications including possible liver failure. They think his illness is from his prior accident where he had blood transfusions, etc.
The rest of story... something in my heart told me to start asking questions about how they pay their bills, etc with such little work and so many children. Again, they have never asked for anything. So, I found out their landlord wants to evict them because they haven't had any electricity or water for about 3 months and he feels that is unsafe for them. They pay their rent every month of $1250 to have a roof over their head but can't afford the electric.
Now, they have NO income. Hilaria is at bedside with him during the day and home in the dark with her children at night. I can only imagine how awfully hot it is in their house and no lights or water.
I feel this family came into my life for a reason. Maybe I'll falling into my mom's footsteps in trying to help people that I believe God places in my life.
Please open your heart. God is calling for help. I know we can't save the world but one person at a time.
I will manage the money for them, paying their bills, etc. until they can figure out the next step. I'm afraid Fransisco will not be able to work again. He is in hospital still talking about how he needs work so he can provide for the family.
I know you don't know them, but it would mean the world to me if you please donate anything immediately. I'm working on trying to get the power and water back on but they have a huge bill due.
