Help rebuild the Claydon house
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kukui Claydon and I grew up in Middletown California.
A massive fire has decimated my hometown and entire area in Northern California (the Valley Fire)- and along with 500 other homes, my childhood home was burned to the ground. I am so grateful that my father and step-mother evacuated safely. I am inspired by them every day as they retain their senses of humor and a positive outlook on life, despite experiencing a trauma like this. As I think back about all the fond memories of my life in this house, I realize that all those memories are not the house, they are the people inside. A treasure hunt birthday party for my sixth birthday where the treasure was at home in the living room - filled with a ceiling of balloons, coming home for the holidays to the most beautiful holiday tree which my step-mom spent 10 hours putting up and decorating, painting the front door bright red with my dad.
This force of nature continues to burn, and I am helpless to stop it. I am thankful for all the brave men and women who risk their lives to to save the land and homes of others, and my heart goes out to this entire community who have pulled together to help each other in times of need.
What I can do is to try to help rebuild a home for my parents. So, that's what I'm doing. Whatever money they will recieve from home insurance will barely begin to cover the cost of rebuildng. Please consider a small donation to help rebuild the Claydon house once the smoke and rubble clear.
Thank you, Kukui Claydon.
This photo of my home was taken by Nick Elias - his home burned down as he was trying to help others. Please consider donating to his fund also!
