Even Colder Mike Rice Campaign
Donation protected
To the generous public,
Hey there. Our names are Robbie, Daniella and Gabriella Rice. We would like to kindly share our story about our father, Michael Rice, or as many know him, Evencolder Mike Austin (a well known Stone Cold impersonator). On the day of June 6, 2015, our father went in to the hospital for, what seemed to be, a minor and very treatable infection in his leg. As results came back, we were shocked to discover our dad was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Days before his hospital visit he was a healthy guy. As we quickly realized, this type of cancer is a very fast growing cancer. A week after hospitalization, and to make matters more difficult, the doctors made us aware that our father was also suffering from what is called the Philadelphia Chromosome. In simple terms, this means that his cancer cells are twisted and tangled together making it much more difficult to treat and not to
mention, very rare. This, being a recent and sudden occurrence, has of course not been easy for any of us.
Throughout his chemotherapy thus far, he has suffered many side effects that have sent him right back in the hospital. Signs of neuropathy, loss of taste and just complete drowsiness - a few of many. The time we spend with him is currently in the visitors bed to the left of his hospital bed.
To tell you a little more about our father, not only was he a successful impersonator of Stone Cold Steve Austin for almost 17 years now, but he used this God given talent to do a number other selfless events in his spare time. He took part in the Jerry Lewis Telethon Broadcast for disabled children and children with muscular dystrophy as a spokesperson for those donors who would call in and want to have a conversation with Even Colder Mike Austin. He was a volunteer wrestler at the John S. Knights Center for Toys for Tots as well as a volunteer wrestler for a number of other shows in his younger years. Mike's most recent events were volunteering in a wrestling show that raised money for a man's sister who had died of Lupus - called the Lupus Federation. And the events closest to his heart - He put together two of his own wrestling events bringing in his wrestler friends and a crew of people to raise money for a booster club of a local high school in need to support their athletic teams and his most memorable event that helped raise money for a high school senior and a top 10 recruited football player who was diagnosed with Bone Cancer. Our father is a compassionate, caring and loving man. We, as many others, like to refer to him as a giant teddy bear, with a big heart.
We are hoping to enter remission and eventually be placed on a waiting list for a bone marrow transplant. These procedures are costly, and to help relieve the stress of bills - that no cancer patient should ever endure - we would kindly appreciate absolutely any amount of money and endless amount of prayers.
Before our father was diagnosed with leukemia:

During the battle against cancer:
Still always smiling :)

Some Sunday fun day :)

He always brings his bands to the hospital so he can make sure he gets a good workout in!
One of his best traits: his sense of humor.
