Let's help Amanda!

If you are lucky enough to know Amanda personally you know that she is one tough chick. She's always accepted challenges with a smile, and dives head first into trying situations with a positive attitude. Amanda is not only a strong woman but a wonderful wife to David Bergeron and a loving mother to her one year old son, Hudson. Amanda is the type of person who would drop anything to help out a friend. And now she needs our help.

Amanda had a lump (nodule) on her thyroid that was found over a year ago by her Cardiologist at random. After having a lot of off increasing symptoms it was recommend that the nodule be removed and a lobectomy was completed in the beginning of March. The final pathology came back and she was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma cancer. Due to this she had to go under the knife for a 2nd time for a total thyroid removal. The only thing she asked of her friends and family was for their support and prayers and the occasional babysitter while she was in the hospital. Amanda and her family felt relieved once her first procedures were over and Amanda jumped back on the horse and was stronger and more resilient than before... Her Surgeon sent her to an Endocrine Oncologist and unfortunately her last check-up didn't go as expected...

Doctors told Amanda they are concerned because her pathology report showed that she has extensive lymphatic invasion which is extremely rare. Her team of oncologists reviewed her case and felt as though she has a high likely hood that her cancer may have metastasized before her previous operations. They are recommending radioactive iodine scans and treatment doses. The Radioactive Iodine treatment themselves put Amanda at risk for secondary cancers such as leukemia, reproductive cancer and gastro cancers. Because of this, in conjunction with the scans Amanda will undergo treatment in the form of European mistletoe injections to help repair her DNA after the iodine scans to ward off other forms of cancer.

Additionally, Amanda and her family have decided to do a full holistic detox after the treatments to get her body strong and healthy and to get rid of all of these toxins caused by the treatments. (another pricey endeavor),

All of this news is unsettling but we know that Amanda can get through this with the support of her friends and family and lots of and lots of prayers. Amanda is too proud to ask for help but some of her close friends know that she could really use it. That's why we've set up this GoFundMe page to ask you donate any amount you can afford to help with the costs of treatment. These donations can also help Amanda get proper childcare while her and Dave spend days/nights at the hospital and while Amanda has to sadly keep out of range of her son a week after her treatments because the radioactive chemicals are too risky to expose a child to.

Thank you all for your generosity, support and prayers. We will keep you updated on this page. And we know if we were in this position Amanda would help anyone she could. Thank you.
