Terry's kidney Transplant
Donation protected
Hi! I’m Terry Matteson,
I was born in Forest Lake Minnesota and attended St. Peters Catholic School until my fifth-grade year. We relocated to Phoenix Arizona and then Vacaville California. I graduated from Vacaville High School in 1979 and enlisted in the Marine Corps (USMC) upon graduation. After an HONORABLE discharge from the USMC I attended the University of Minnesota studding Aerospace Engineering. While attending the UoM I obtained a private Pilot’s license and flew Ultralight aircraft as a hobby. Professionally I worked as a Project Manager and Service Engineer until October 2013 when I became sick with Liver and Kidney disease. On December 27, 2008, my sons tenth(10th) birthday I was fortunate enough to receive a Liver transplant due to the Hepatitis C virus and Liver Cancer.
On August 21,1996, I married my long time best friend and partner Elizabeth L Bolkcom. We have one (1) child, Tristin T Matteson. Our family goal is to raise $25,000 for the medical and living expenses that have been putting a strain on the whole family. I have not been able to work since January 2014 when I entered the hospital with rapidly deteriorating health. When I became sick in 2013 my weight was 210 lbs., one year later my weight was 107 lbs. See photo, I am the one sitting surrounded by family and childhood friends. I am currently in Dialysis three (3) times a week for Three (3) hours and fifteen (15) minutes. Dialysis is very hard on my body with hand and leg cramps throughout the procedure. The "Dialysis Hang over " (immediately after and the following day) leaves me with headaches, fatigue, nausea and vomiting a long with overall body aches and pains.
With the medical expenses mounting and more to come for the transplant, living expenses have left us with empty cupboards, late mortgage and utilities, adding more debt in fees and penalties. We are at the point where we are severely under water and could lose everything we have worked so hard to obtain in the past thirty (30) years.
Your help in donations will put food on our table an allow us to raise our son in the manner he deserves. Your gift will be cherished and my family will be eternally grateful. THANKYOU! So much for helping us out.
