Prayers For Jaxin

Donation protected

My 5 year old nephew Jaxin was transferred from Floyd Medical Hospital in Rome to Scottish Rite in Atlanta on October 13,2016. His mom Lori and father Jeremy are by his side 24/7 and have been out of work being there for Jaxin. If you know them both, they are some of the best parents to Jaxin. Jaxin doesn't have medical insurance and they will have medical bills and day to day bills while out of work. Any donation will help them during this time. Jaxin has Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome right now from Shigella non-0157 a terrible strand of E.Coli. They were moved to the Pediatric Acute Care Unit. There are 5 nurses. The doctor let Lori review the labs and scans with him. He is getting bloodwork 2x a day and getting a ultrasound of his appendix and pancreas because it is distended some and to make sure we arent missing anything. He does not need blood yet. He is still passing blood and mucus. Our concerns are how his back is now hurting, his kidneys. They have called in a specialist to assist. He is slowly receiving glucose. No more potassium. Still zofran and levsin a pain medicine. They are still wanting him to eat and drink normally, but he is always filling full. October 16,2016 We have just begun this journey. Jaxin is an incredibly strong and resilent little boy. We have been overwhelmed with scenarios and information. We are in the middle of his HUS and pancreatitis. We are on strict fluids. We are strict on all measurements of inputs and outputs. He is still receiving glucose. Zofran every 8 hrs. Tylenol as needed but haven't recently no fever. Levsin as needed now. We are concerned heavily about his kidney production. Worst case he will require a transfusion and dialysis. Best case, we still recieve this supportive care. No antibiotics will help. Since laying with him this morning he has begun to sleep longer and go longer without using the restroom. Blood is still an issue. Everything is heavily monitored. Best case we will be here til minimum Friday. Jeremy is indefinitely out of work and they have been super supportive. I am out of work until we are home and I could not ask for a better place to understand. I am brought to tears at the compassion of our friends, family, school mates, and coworkers!! You truly never can prepare for everything nor control. God is in control. We are so thankful to have community behind us. We feel so loved and we can feel the prayers. Keep praying! We have a long, patient road ahead. Pray for his body to sleep and heal. Please pray when this poor baby has to have blood drawn 4x a day and can not on his dominant right arm, so it will be the left arm. This is the most difficult. We love and appreciate you all!! October 17,2016 Today has been a blessing. We all got so much more sleep. Jaxin has been more talkative and asking questions about wanting food and drinking things. We have some cute and funny stories. This kid is so hilarious! We heard him laugh today! Even though his personality is coming through, we are not at the bottom of the worst of his bloodwork yet. Everything as previously mentioned is a strong concern. We spoke with a new pediatrician, new nephrologist, new gastrointestinal doctor, and new nurses. He do have dialysis, transfusion, and a PIC line on the horizon BUT it may not be needed. We are just monitoring his blood levels. We are having to do as I call it bubble/pinwheel therapy as he does have some fluid collecting in his lungs. The hardest things right now is drawing blood from his left arm every 12 hrs, his questioning about food but he is NOT allowed to really eat too much because it will continue to irritate his swollen pancreas and bowels, but eat crackers to prevent stomach ulcers, and he is quarantined to this room for how ever long his duration of being here. Prayers for all of the numbers in his bloodwork, continued sleep, and his contentment (happiness) being stuck in a room. He is good on the outside but not so much on the inside. Glad to see our baby smile today!! Pray for healing for Jaxin!
