Yesterday was a true nightmare come true. While visiting my brother and his family in a neighboring city, my nephew wanted to hold Billy’s leash. Billy saw two dogs and ran to greet them and my nephew wasn’t prepared for the pull. He lost hold and Billy was viciously attacked my two 50lb dogs. I’m not capable of documenting the horror that we all had to witness because the trauma is unlike anything I’ve ever
seen. My two boys, age 12 and 14 sadly witnessed this as well. Since it was Sunday, we had to find an emergency vet that was open and it was an excruciating 18 minutes away. My brother drove as I tried to keep Billy alive in my arms. The noises and images and even smells won’t leave me.
I’m desperately trying to raise some money
because I can’t bear the thought of money being the reason we have to make a decision.
Billy made it to the hospital and they miraculously stabilized him. They took Billy for exrays
and he has 3 broken ribs. He was put into surgery around 2am and made it out around 5. He has deep wounds in his neck, on his shoulder, in his groin. He has 4 drains to help with fluid. His white blood count, protein, and body tempare low. He has had nerve damage and may never be able to use his front right leg again. He will need more surgery and more nights in the hospital as he’s in need of plasma, feeding tube, urine extraction....all care I, as a single mom oftwo, can’t provide. He’s without his family. We have been praying so hard. We are beside ourselves. If you find it in your heart, any amount could help us to keep Billy fighting. We appreciate your consideration. Please help bring Billy back home, on the road to recovery.
