On May 17th, 2025, our worlds were torn upside down, my husband Trey "SLIK" Dardar was on his way to a benefit ride for our sister chapter in Houma as we ride for Bikers Against Child Abuse and was in a horrific accident. Two vehicles ran a full-blown red light as he was approaching the intersection and t-boned the second vehicle. The officer working the scene came to the hospital to visit with me and informed me that a witness at the scene stated that Trey had ran a red light and my response was there was no way and at that time in did let me know that once they were cleaning up the scene, they found his Go Pro camera. So, Monday morning I went and signed release for use of footage and within the hour he called me to let me know that the video showed that Trey was the one who had the green light and that the witness that stated he ran the light was actually the one who ran the red light first. It took me a few days to finally watch the footage myself which was very hard. He had been had the green light and once he seen the first one run the light he responding quickly and to the best of his ability but 3 seconds is not enough time as the second vehicle was just that close behind the other one. The camera flew away from the scene and the battery flew out, but it did keep recording 10 minutes afterwards and happen to face the scene. This witness the one that ran the light first came up to the intersection and while standing there watching my husband fight for his life blatantly lied stating she witness what happened and said that she was going through the intersection and he was following her and they had the green light and that that man ran the red light and crashed into him, now keep in mind that there was not any cameras at this intersection as it was a recent added construction intersection, so they thought they would get away with it since he probably wouldn't live, but thank God he has his camera on the bike. Now we are 4 weeks since the accident and the police report is done by the sergeant but is still waiting on approval, so still no crash report but was told they issued a red-light citation to the vehicle he collided with.
Now as for his injuries they are very extensive and are as follows: Subdural hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intraventricular hemorrhage, blood clot to the right hemisphere with had to be removed by a craniotomy, DAI, bilateral 1st and 2nd ribs fractured, bilateral temporal fractures, skull fracture, bilateral lower jaw fractures which were surgically repaired with plates and screws, left sphenoid sinus fracture, open fracture to left elbow which was surgically repaired with plates and screws, closed fracture to left 5th metatarsal, 3 open fractures to the left ankle/leg which has been surgically repaired with lots of metal.
At this time, he is still in ICU and is non weight bearing to the left leg for 3 months, he has severe respiratory issues that has almost taken his life at one point. He has had to have a trach, and a peg tube put in to get him through this. He is showing great improvements considering all the damage done. Therapy the last 5 days have done amazing things with him he did 2 sit to stands with 2 person assist x 8 seconds, able to balance sitting on edge of bed x 20 minutes with contact guard assist, was able to write for the first time and able to mouth more words with understanding today. He does have some delays brain wise but the first 6 months are the most crucial and this is where the help of others would be greatly appreciated. His insurance through his job is not the greatest as we are trying to get into a LTAC facility to get medically stable before going to TIRR in Houston for the best rehab for his condition and insurance wants to negotiate how much they will pay which could determine how much help he actually gets and I want stand for that as he deserves the best chance of recovery. Not sure on how much insurance the person that caused the accident has yet to cover things, but it will be tied up for a while due to filing suit against them and that could take years as his health will take a while to recover, if he will even recover to his fullest prior to accident. So, I would like to ask that if everyone could help out whether it be financially, sharing our story with others, and/or praying it would mean the world to me. I am currently juggling still working full time to keep up with bills, traveling and hour and half every day to be with him at this moment, will be further once we get to TIRR in Houston, juggling our 3 beautiful children with having family and friends watch them and give them momma time as well.
The main goal with this fundraiser is to get him the best care even if the insurance does not cover it, he deserves to have his life back, our life back as we were just recently married in March this year. I always trust God's plan as there is a purpose for it and with that I would love to encourage motorcyclists to put a camera on your bike and for people driving vehicles to look for bikes when driving, listen for them, pay attention and take that 3 minutes to sit at the red light as you never know if you're taking the life of a father, mother, husband, wife, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, daughter, or son.
Help bring our story to light to bring a change to the world; his accident never made any news stations which is odd as every accident is always on the news. Help us bring justice to him. Thanks
