Bob’s story
What began as a sore throat on Father’s Day turned into a fight for his life. Bob has a compromised immune system because he has type 1 diabetes. Diabetes can turn a simple infection into a deadly disease. Bob has been fighting an abscess that began in his throat and spread into his chest. He was transported by ambulance from Rockwall to the ICU at Baylor Dallas on June 28th. He’s endured 3 surgeries and multiple procedures that have kept him alive. It has been devastating to see him healthy one day and on death’s door step the next. It has been a long journey of ups and downs.
Loree has been by his side and feels blessed by all the prayers and support from family and friends.
Bob is not out of the woods yet, but we’re hopeful that he will be transferred to an acute care facility that can help him with the long recovery process. The facility offers terrific wound care and therapy. Bob will have to learn how to walk, swallow and speak again.
We’re saying prayers that this transfer happens in time for them to celebrate their 32nd anniversary, this Saturday, out of the ICU; but know that God has his own time line for Bob’s healing.
Contributions towards his extensive medical bills are greatly appreciated. #PrayersForBob #SupportBob #HealingJourney
