During Hurricane Melissa, my two friends and I were stuck here in Jamaica, but the incredible warmth and resilience of the Jamaican people helped protect us and keep us safe. Now, as the island faces the aftermath of this devastating Category 5 storm, we are raising funds to support those who have lost their homes and livelihoods. Your generous donations will be used to provide critical relief, including food, water, medical care, and rebuilding efforts for the affected communities.

Since the donations are in US dollars, I will be receiving the donations to my account. From there, I plan to wire the funds to Syricia who is based in Jamaica. Syricia is the staff manager and is one of the people who helped keep me safe during the Hurricane. She will be distributing the funds amongst herself and 14 staff members based off a predetermined amount we have come up with. The staff we are distributing the funds to helped keep us safe and comfortable during the storm. The funds will be used for their immediate needs, and help them to recover from the damage sustained on their homes.
