Help A First-Time National Presenter!

Donation protected
Recently, I was accepted to present at a national conference within my professional field for the very first time. This particular conference is the NACADA Annual Conference and will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah in October 2013.

Public perception of community and technical/vocational colleges, paired with limited experiences within student affairs graduate programs, can hinder new professionals' perspectives on the two-year systems; in other words, I want to share that the two-year environment is a viable and rewarding experience for new professionals. My co-presenter and I will do this by offering ideas to two-year colleges in regards to recruiting and hiring new student affairs professionals, as well as provide information for new professionals on the two-year college environment.

The current Washington state budget** (which, last I heard, doesn't exist for the upcoming fiscal year!) and my personal economy is restrictive, however, and my opportunity to secure funding for this professional development experience is not looking too good. Additionally, if I pull out of my presenter slot, I will be banned from submitting a proposal to NACADA for three full years.

**I work in Vancouver, WA, although I reside in Portland, OR. Just to clarify why it's WA's budget that's in-play.

Current needs include:
- NACADA membership - $65
- Conference registration - $370 for NACADA members (early-bird registration, before 9/4/13)

You can donate whatever amount you wish, and I have additionally set up award levels to show my thanks. :)

Help a new professional fulfill her goal of presenting at a national conference. You'll be thanked and praised tremendously!
