THE DREAMER: Madison Parris, is a sophomore currently attending Reservoir High School and has a dream to pursue a career in sports medicine with a surgical focus. A decision of this magnitude doesn’t come easily and has a long road of hard work and dedication and sacrifice ahead. Smart. Passionate. Humble. Driven. These and many other qualities describe her character and why with simple dedication she will achieve this goal. As we all know, the key to success lies in support.
THE OPPORTUNITY: Madison has been selected amongst a multitude of students to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) for Advanced Medicine & Health Care. This opportunity was presented by the Dean of Admissions at George Mason University in partnership with Envision, a premier organization entering its 30th year of mentoring students. The 10 day program will be conducted at Johns Hopkins University for the summer of 2016. It will allow her to evaluate a wide array of health care professions, sharpen her skills as a critical thinker and collaborator, as well as provide her with hands on simulated clinical patient experiences. This prestigious opportunity lets her partake in activities that will truly give her a sense of what a career as a healthcare professional will mean.
THE MISSION: With this opportunity, Madison can jump start her dream. This prestigious offer helps to open the door to countless connections and experiences that she may not otherwise have. This shot allows her to enter into a world of high academic standards, various internship and volunteer opportunities and a chance at continued success.
THE GOAL: While we were able to cover the enrollment fee of $499, we are now faced with the challenge of raising the remaining balance. To complete her enrollment process and guarantee Madison a chance, we MUST raise $4800.00. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL as every dollar places her one step closer!!
