Karen's Medical Fund

On August 21st,  my cousin (in-law), Karen was in a serious car accident just 1 mile from her home. The other driver ran a stop sign, t-boning Karen. After being cut out of the car and taken to Robert Packer, we learned that her back had been broken.

Just 2 days after the accident, Karen had surgery to fuse 5 of the vertebrae in her lower back. Yesterday she was able to sit in a chair for a few hours. Karen is a fighter and has come a long way in a few days, but she has a lengthy recovery ahead of her, including time at a physical rehab facility.

As many of you may know, she was downsized from her job in March and has been without insurance, making this accident particularly challenging from a financial standpoint. Her wife, Amy, has been juggling being with Karen as much as possible while also maintaining her work schedule.

If you know Karen and Amy, you probably realize how lucky you are! They are 2 of the kindest, most giving people you'll ever know. You probably know that they'll help just about anyone, human or 4-legged! Now they need our help!
