HELP Chris fight cholangiocarcinoma
Donation protected
So it all started Laborday weekend.. Chris woke up with a pain on his left side. Didn't think too much about it thought maybe a pulled muscle or something like that sice we just took down a tree the night before. The about 9 am coughed and had the worse pain he'd ever felt before. Said he wanted to go to Urgent Care. Well there was no Urgent Care in Fremont anymore so we went to Spectrum Gerber Memorial Hosptail Emergency. The doctor did a CT scan and came back and said the reason for the pain is you broke your rib. Then said by the way you have Cancer. So they wanted to send us by Ambulance to Grand Rapids because this was an emergency situation. I drove him down to Grand Rapids got there an found out there really was no reason to be there because there are no Cancer Specialist on the weekends especially holiday weekends. He spent the night for what reason I don't know. Even the next day when a doctor finally showed up said that we should never have been sent there. Got discharged went home and everything turned into waiting game. He had a Biopsy and after about 2 weeks found out that he has stage 4 terminal bile duct cancer and there was not a whole lot that can be done. My husband told them we have 3 kids that he wants to be around for. Ages 16, 10 and 8 he wants to fight until theres no fight left in him. So we then went to the University of Michigan got a second opinion and they have given us some hope but this is a rare and agressive cancer not a lot of people get this diagnosis and live to tell the tale because there's not a lot of doctors that are experts in this. University Of Michigan does have experience but it's going to cost a lot of money. We do have insurance but we have a $6000.00 out of pocket to be met and things are going to get even tighter once he startrs chemo and he's not able to work anymore. We already into this $2000.00 just from the doctors with Spectrum I didn't want to ask for help but I have no choice at this time. I was given resource email from Blue Cross Blue Sheild for help with co-pays but everyone that I looked into don't have help for this cancer because it's not a well known cancer. The Acutal Cancer is Cholangiocarcinoma. To learn more about it go to http://cholangiocarcinoma.org/ any amount helps. Thank you from my family to yours
