Hi I’m Johnny, sometimes called the Fox Father, the Swan Saviour or at Christmas, Santa Paws.

I’m an army veteran, a pensioner, a volunteer wildlife first responder and also just for good measure, an officer in the National Coastwatch Institute.

My passion is saving our wildlife, anytime 24/7. Although I’ll go out and rescue most animals including domestic animals, but with the arrival of avian influenza amongst our mute swans, I’m struggling to reach the casualties in the dyke and river systems. This is due to the lack of specialist equipment. And this is where I’m asking you for help, in purchasing this kit. It’s also to be used in all rescues where access is an issue, it can even be used for a cat stuck up a tree.

It’s strange to literally go out with my cap in hand asking for help but I’m currently using home made kit but the scale of the situation requires rapid response and resolution in a safe as possible manner for both myself and the casualty.
