It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing this story, one that we never ever could have imagined ending the way that it has.
Kim and Josh found out that they were expecting in June, the pregnancy was going perfectly and they found out at 15 weeks that they were expecting a sweet baby boy. The night of September 26th Kim was experiencing pain and her water unexpectedly broke at 20 weeks and 5 days. This condition is called PPROM (Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes) this condition is one that no one can control unfortunately, and the only option was bedrest and prayers that Kim would be able to keep from going into labor for as long as possible, or at the minimum until 24 weeks when Brayden would have a chance at survival. We along with all of you prayed unceasingly that Brayden would make it through this journey.
Unfortunately God had other plans and on October 4th Kim went into labor, and our precious Brayden Matthew was born at 11:02am. Being that Kim was only 21 weeks and 5 days along, Brayden was just too little to survive. We were fortunate that Kim and Josh along with our immediate family were able to hold him, talk to him and let him know just how much he is loved. We were also able to give him a blessing before he was called back to Heaven.
None of us will ever be able to understand why this had to happen, and we will have a hole in our hearts forever from his loss. We are finding comfort in knowing that God has a plan for all things in life, and that he is holding Brayden in his loving arms now.
Though Brayden's time on earth was short, he has left his footprints on all of our hearts. We will cherish his precious memory for the rest of our lives. We love you sweet angel!
We have created this fundraiser to help ease the financial pain that unfortunately comes along with this kind of loss, one that no one should have to endure. This fund will help Kim and Josh with the costs of Brayden's burial, as well as help alleviate the stress from the loss of income they are incurring. We want to make sure we are able to help them properly grieve the loss of their baby.
