Isaac Fawbush Hit and Run Fund
Late on Thursday, September 29th, my 18 year old brother Isaac was biking home from a friend's house in Melbourne, Florida. He was just a couple miles from home when a car struck his bike and sent him flying through the air. The car never stopped.
Isaac was in the hospital for,3 days and our family didnt find out until Sunday as Isaac was home alone for any amount of time for really the first time in his life as our mother traveled across country to help me with a move. We assumed that Isaac wasn't answering calls because he was busy with friends or enjoying a few lazy days before starting college classes. I convinced my mom not to worry about him.
Isaac is a guinuinely a good kid. He had just graduated High School with honors. Isaac is an active kid who loved working out, doing Parkour and surfing and playing the ukulele. This should be an exciting time in his life with college just starting. Ironically, Isaac was biking that night because he had used the last of his gas and gave the last of his money to help a friend in need. That is the type of kid he is. There was not a mean bone in his body. After we found out, Isaac was more concerned with comforting our mother. Isaac is an amazing son and brother and goofy, caring uncle. He didn't deserve this. God must have a special plan for Isaac.
Now, although he is home, Isaac has a painful recovery ahead. He has a lacerated foot that barely missed his Achilles tendon and all the way to the bone, stitches in his arms, legs, lip and nose and staples in his scalp. He has road rash on his arms and covering his back, so severe that the doctors compared it to second degree burns and fractured vertebrate in his back.
He will have extensive physical scarring as well as emotional scars from this accident. He will be using a wheelchair and then a walker for quite a while.
I am hoping that by setting up this GofundMe page it will raise awareness for Isaac. Help us get any information about the accident and help raise money to help cover Isaac's medical expenses, both now and as he begins the healing process. Anything additional after the goal will continue to go towards Isaac's unforseen medical costs related to this ordeal and then to his college education so he can have one less thing to worry about.
Please share Isaac's story so we can raise as much for him as possible.
Because this was a hit and run, there is no one for the state to hold liable.
If anyone has any information about the accident, we urge you to please contact the Melbourne, FL police department.
