On April 28th, 2016 my sister Tara lost her best friend and soul mate to cancer. Adam was only 37 and left behind the legacy of being a person that would put himself second to the needs of any friend, family member, at times strangers, and certainly my sister. He also left behind something (actually someone) special that both he and Tara love dearly. That someone is Sydney, a 4 year old Anatolin Shephard who 6 months after Adam's death remains my sister best friend, and daily reminder of the love both her and Adam shared over their time together.
In August 2015, Sydney suffered a cruciate ligament tear in her left knee which required a surgery which Sydney thankfully recovered from. Unfortunately for Sydney, the result of the original surgery was a significant amount of weight being distributed to her opposite leg. Sydney has now had her right knee breakdown and has a cruciate ligament tear which needs to be operated on urgently.
Since Adam has passed, my sister has been on her own to cover the costs of the home they shared and without pet insurance, the $4500 cost of surgery is not something she has the funds available to pay for.
My goal is to raise $4500 to cover the cost of the surgery ($4200) plus the costs for two follow up appointments ($300) which need to take place over the next 2 weeks.
Seeing my sister lose her life partner has been incredibly difficult. At the age of 34 it's not something anyone should have to go through. Losing Sydney would only compound the emotion and challenges she faces daily moving forward with her life.
I (and I am sure Tara) would be incredibly thankful if you could contribute to Sydney's knee surgery fund. Here is a look at what Sydney's walks currently consist of. She too would be greatful.
