Family and friends!  As you are aware a very tragic natural disaster recently took place in my family’s country of Haiti.  Not only was Haiti affected, but also Jamaica, Bahamas, Cuba, and the United States.  I am blessed and thankful to report that to my knowledge all of my family members have survived the hurricane.  

Although we were able to avoid such tragedy my family members in the southern part of Haiti called Les Cayes completely lost two homes.  One house was owned by my uncle Michaud and the other owned by my cousin Mimine.  To add to this unfortunate situation, the church that my mother was raised and attended was also completely destroyed.  My mother was deeply affected by this news as she had endless memories within the church and the community.

Many may not be aware, but my mother just gained her US citizenship in 2013.  The only other family members we have in the United States are my Aunt and her 3 children who reside in New York city.  The remainder of our relatives all reside in Haiti.  This entails my mother’s 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.  In short, our entire family resides in Haiti.  

This fundraiser will provide assistance directly to my family to greatly assist in the rebuilding process.  This will entail securing building supplies, food, water, and temporary shelter.  The sooner the proceeds from this fundraiser can make its way to my family the better!
