Hello,
My name is Eliza Weekley, I am 18 years old and there has never been a moment in my life when I have not wanted to be a professional dancer.
Recently I have been given the opportunity to continue my professional ballet training at the Joffrey Academy of Dance. This is an opportunity that will bring me one step closer to achieving my dream.
I began dancing at 4 years old at Factory Street Studio, in my hometown of Athens, Ohio. At 10 years old I was given the chance to train at the BalletMet Dance Academy. To help me do this my father had to take a lot of time off of work to drive me an hour and a half each way to class everday. My mother also had to take on extra work to help pay for the cost of classes. When I turned 16 BalletMet offred me a spot in their Trainee Program on scholarship for two years. To be able to accept this offer I had to move away from home. I also had to be homeschooled by my mother from afar so I could finish High School.
At the Joffrey Ballet I will be training under Alexei Kremnev and Anna Reznik, former prinicipal artists with the Bolshoi Ballet. The cost of tuition and housing will be $14,000. My family and I are doing everything we can to try and cover the cost, but your help would be wonderful! Any amount you are able to donate will be greatly appriciated and will help me to continue my future in ballet.
