Angela (Long) Mabey - Fighting Terminal Ovarian Cancer
Angela is a 45 years old, a wife and a wonderful mother to our three children: Nicholas 16, Kara 14 and Katelyn 10. She is a devoted Christian and has served the Lord in full-time ministry as an elementary Christian School Teacher / Principal at the Somerville Christian Academy for 20 years. Angela grew up in Hartland, NB and is the daughter of Andy and Sharon Long and sister to Nancy (Dale) Fisher and Trish Long. I (Ross) grew up in the Saint John, NB area and am the son of Bob and Heather Mabey and the brother of Coral (Chris) Roy and David Mabey.
In August of 2014, Angela was diagnosed with Stage 3+ Ovarian cancer. As you can imagine the emotional battle of cancer in some aspects is even more difficult than the physical. Since that time, she has had 60 chemotherapy treatments, surgery, fluid taps, countless number of tests, scans and has lost 70 lbs since this journey began 2 years ago. For weeks, she has suffered with constant nausea, loss of appetite, insomnia and dealing with the discomfort of the growing tumours pressing on her internal organs, spine and abdomen.
On Oct 3, 2016, she was informed by her Doctor that the cancer had spread to into her other vital organs, deemed terminally ill and given only a few months to live. Desperate to save my beautiful wife and mother to our three precious children we are seeking treatment in Mexico. Family and friends have been praying alongside of us, standing on God’s promises believing in faith that He will provide a way. After much prayer we feel that God is leading us to the Immunity Therapy Center (ITC) to pursue alternative treatments.
After consultations with the ITC Doctors, Angela and I may have to remain in Mexico for 9-12 weeks as she undergoes treatment. The projected costs are expected to be from $70,000 - $80,000 U.S. dollars including travel, treatment, medication and accommodations.
