SEND ME BACK TO COLLEGE!!!!

Philadelphia College of Orthopedic Medicine(PCOM), is offering a graduate degree in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology that I would very much like to apply to.  I am raising funds to help ease the burden of loan payments, books, and snacks from the vending machine.

The foundation of my education philosophy is that community strength builds resilient people.  Helping professions like teaching are the fabric that binds communities.  I'd like to expand my abilities to help my community by aging into the profession  of Counseling Psychology.   The program highlight that really drew my attention was:

"Incorporating knowledge of the biopsychosocial model (mind + body + interpersonal/culture/community), the program provides a foundation for ethical practice that facilitates the well-being of individuals, families, and communities."

I've personally lost two friends, two students(high school age), and a family member to Heroin. Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs suffer from a widespread heroin problem fueled by low prices and prescription medication abuse.  In the very near future I'd like to serve my community by helping others address their personal substance abuse problems in hopes of building a stronger community in and around Philadelphia.

The money raised will not only help with my tuition, but help keep my mind at ease while I work through the program.

Teaching will keep the bills paid, the dogs fed, and the house warm. With my current student loans to pay I can not take on this added expense. Yet I'm driven to help my community in this regard.  And so I am asking the internet to help me in my endeavorer.
