Kathryn DiPietro Medical Needs

It is with a heavy heart that I created this go fund me page, but there are situations in my life that are outside of my control and I have to reach out to ask for help. That in itself is hard because I've always been self-reliant and it is usually me helping others. So it is with heavy heart and after much reflection, I've created this account to humbly ask for help.
As many of you know, I have been unable to do my job since 2006, however I have been fortunate to have disability support through my former job and I can and do purchase my medical insurance through them. Costly but necessary!
I have struggled with health issues most of my life due to IGA nephropathy, a life altering auto-immune kidney disease.
It is still ongoing and I'm facing two surgeries. On August 5,we leave our small home in Baja Mexico for San Diego California so that I can have my second parathyroid surgery for hyperparathyroidism with is cause by my kidney disease.
I have insurance, but my benefits have changed and I'm currently required to pay 10% on all test (dexascan l, sestimebescan, fluorescent scan, kidney ulultrasound, parathyroids scan, and blood work. These specialized tests run into the 20,000s and are often repeated. Add to these tests the cost of a parathyroidectomy 35,000 and it quickly becomes overwhelming.
Dale will stay in hotel for several weeks while I'm in the hospital, which is an additional cost. As is travel.
After this surgery is over, my doctor will turn her focus to a surgical solution to treat my current spinal compression fracture and prevent others. With this in mind, I am overwhelmed as how I will financially afford to take care of these pressing medical problems.
I know none of this is your responsibility, but if you could find it in your heart to give a little something, be it money, prayers or some other form of help.
