Margee's Myeloma Fight
Donation protected
To know Margee is to love Margee. So, imagine how devastated we were to learn that she would be fighting the hardest battle of her life...Multiple Myloma. What is that you ask, well it is a cancer formed by malignant plasma cells. When plasma cells become cancerous and grow out of control, they can produce a tumor called a plasmacytoma. These tumors generally develop in a bone, but they are also rarely found in other tissues. If someone has only a single plasma cell tumor, the disease is called an isolated (or solitary) plasmacytoma. If someone has more than one plasmacytoma, they have multiple myeloma. As a part of the treatment, Margee will have a stem cell transplant which will require a long hospital stay (about a month) and isolation at home to keep down any exposure to infection.
Monies raised will help with living expenses and medical bills as she fights this fight. She will be on disability but at some point her bills will exceed her medical expenses for 2016 and in 2017 the insurance clock will restart meaning she will have to pay a lot out of pocket before insurance kicks in.
