Hi, it's Cori! Unfortunately MY BEST FRIEND Coraline snapped the ligaments in her back left leg, leaving it lame, and unable to use.
Coraline was doing her usual normal routine of being the best little helper, and waking up my son. When she ran, and jumped onto the bed she immediately fell over, yelping, and crying. That was horrifying to witness, my heart dropped. It was so bad she wouldn't even allow me to touch her, and I was met with a growl due to her being scared, and in pain. When I was finally able to assess the situation I immediately realized that her back left leg was the issue. She was completely unable to walk from how bad it was hurting her. I got her the soonest available appointment I could afford, and find. I've never seen her in this condition. It absolutely broke my heart. I felt so horrible that I couldn't immediately help her.
Coraline was examined, sedated, and had x-rays taken at South Sacramento Pet Hospital which that alone cost me $667. They discovered that Coraline broke the ligaments in her leg, has hip dysplasia, and that her leg looks abnormal (different sizes I believe). She will need cruciate ligament surgery, so that she can walk, and hopefully run again as a Cattle Dog should.
I myself underwent a surgery on May 5th to help slow the progression of my degenerative disease, and other health complications. Unfortunately the toll it has taken on my mental, and physical health has been harder than I expected, and I have been unable to work due to these complications. I had my savings to help me through my financial situation, and my service dog to help get me through the mental, and physical part of this journey. Unfortunately now Coraline is hurting, and unable to be there for me/all of us as she normally is, and loves to do. I've spent the last of my savings helping her as best I can.
Coraline is absolutely the best girl ever, and has helped me get through the hardest times in my life. She's my hiking partner, protector, cuddle buddy, she's my emotional support, my son's little sister, and my absolute best friend I have EVER had.
Coraline's injury is not just taking a physical, but a mental toll on her. She's unable to walk around, play, jump on the furniture, and she's even unable to go to the bathroom alone. I have to have help to get her into a wagon to take her back, and forth to go potty. I've been having to keep her kenneled to prevent her from breaking her other leg, and worsening her hurt one. She doesn't understand that it's for the best.
Dr. Varga has informed me that due to Coraline's weight, and size that all the pressure she puts down on her good leg is about to cause it to break as well if I do not get her the surgery ASAP.
Please help me get my girl back on her paws. She's only 8, has the whole world ahead of her, ready to be explored so much more!
Her surgery quote is Low Subtotal $4,008 and High Subtotal $4,508
ANYTHING helps. If you can't donate please share this link out to others who may be able to.
Thank you for reading this far, and helping
