Kayla vs. Cancer: My beautiful niece Kayla was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at the age of four. After many sessions of chemo, radiation, and many medications she went into remission for the past three years. Kayla had beaten cancer but the outcome meant long-lasting consequences. Kayla has lost a significant amount of her hearing in both ears and has speech delays. It appeared as though a huge amount of stress and worries were lifted until this past August when Kayla suffered a massive head ache that would not go away. She was immediately rushed back to Hershey Hospital. Kayla and her family then received the traumatic news that the cancer had returned. Needless to say, her parents and family are devastated.
After receiving news that Kayla would battle cancer yet again, her father William was also diagnosed with bone cancer. He is currently being treated at Reading Hospital. He has started his chemo sessions and is on a regiment of medications. William is the only driver in the family and so it has become difficult to transport Kayla to Hershey Hospital and to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. William has made the difficult decision to postpone his treatments in order to be at Kayla’s side during this crucial time. William has been medically advised to restart his treatments or he will not be able to help his daughter. Medical expenses, transportation cost, and the everyday burdens of maintaining a household where two members are simultaneously battling cancer is becoming overwhelming for the family. It is with this information and hopeful hearts we are asking for any financial assistance to cover transportation and other direct expenses for Kayla and William. The family wishes to thank everyone for well wishes and any assistance that can be offered.
Thank you so much & God Bless
