I'm Makeda Bullock Floyd and I am in the Santa Monica High School chamber choir. Every two years, the top choirs,  Chamber and Madrigals go on a tour, during which we visit perform in beautiful locations and vist historically significant sights that allow us to learn more about choir and  once in a lifetime experience. This year we are going to Great Britain, perform in Winchester Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, Bath Abbey, Gloucester Cathedral, and Ely Cathedral. 

Because only juniors and seniors are in those choirs, each of us only gets to go once and it is a very special trip that many of us, including myself have looked forward to since freshman year, or even middle school. Unfortunately, the cost is well beyond what some of our families can afford on our own.

Our choir  program works hard throughout the year to raise funds to offset the cost of this trips for familes, however it is not enough to pay for the entire trip for all of us. We each need to pay a total of $3,500 per person plus an estimated $250-500 for food and other expenses. This is an overwhelming cost for me and my family, and one that we will not be able to pay alone. If you are able to assist me at all with the cost, no matter the size of the donation, I would be incredibly grateful
