Hello, my name is Ana, and this is my baby cat, Lestat. He is 2 years old, and I rescued him along with his sister Nyx when they were just a couple of months old. I always say they rescued me as I was going through a rough time during the pandemic and they gave me purpose and have made me very happy.

In this past month, Lestat has developed a major infection on his palate that has created a hole that needs to be cleaned and sealed or cauterized. For this reason, he needs to go under anesthesia. I currently live in Chile, and I noticed something was wrong when he was not eating much, which was weird because my boy loves to eat. I took him to the vet but he didn't find the root of the problem. He told me to try different foods, and I did, but he was not improving and furthermore I heard him complain when he wanted to eat, as he was in pain, so I took him to another vet who said that he could have parasites that were making him ill. He told me to keep him with soft foods and gave him meds for the parasites. But still nothing changed, desperately I took him to a 3rd vet that took his time checking him and that's when he saw the hole on his palate (with some difficulty, as Lestat was very nervous and wouldn't stop moving).

He told me that in order to do the cleaning correctly, my baby needs to go under anesthesia and all the mechanics of a procedure of this kind. I wish you could help me with my baby, who along with his sister are everything to me. I can't bear to see him in pain or suffering. I really appreciate any support you can give me and I hope it multiplies by thousands for you and your loved ones. Thank you.

Hola, mi nombre es Ana y este es mi gatito, Lestat. Tiene 2 años y lo adopté junto con su hermana Nyx cuando sólo tenían un par de meses. Siempre digo que me ellos rescataron porque estaba pasando por un momento difícil durante la pandemia y me dieron un propósito y me han hecho muy feliz.

Desde el mes pasado, Lestat desarrolló una infección severa en el paladar que creó un agujero que debe limpiarse y sellarse o cauterizarse. Por este motivo, necesita estar bajo anestesia. Actualmente vivo en Chile y noté que algo andaba mal cuando él no comía mucho, lo cual fue raro porque a mi niño le encanta comer. Lo llevé al veterinario pero no encontró la raíz del problema. Me dijo que probara diferentes alimentos y lo hice, pero no mejoraba y además lo oía quejarse cuando quería comer, porque tenía dolor, así que lo llevé a otro veterinario que me dijo que podía tener parásitos que lo estaban enfermando. Me dijo que lo mantuviera con alimentos blandos y le dio medicamentos para los parásitos. Pero aún así nada cambió, desesperadamente lo llevé a un 3er veterinario que se tomó su tiempo para revisarlo y fue cuando vio el agujero en su paladar (con cierta dificultad, ya que Lestat estaba muy nervioso y no paraba de moverse).

Me dijo que para hacer la limpieza correctamente mi bebé necesita estar bajo anestesia y todo lo que un procedimiento de este tipo conlleva. El costo no es de miles, pero no puedo permitírmelo en este momento. Ojalá pudieran ayudarme con mi bebé que junto con su hermana son todo para mí. No puedo soportar verlo mal o sufrir.
