Grad School Computer Breakdown!
Donation protected
Hello! I'm Christian and I go to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I am a full-time, 2nd year graduate student in the Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism. My laptop, which had been my trusty and valued companion for over three years, took a nose-dive recently and completely bit the dust. That adorable profile picture that you see is me with the only personal device I have left to use--and a Kindle is hardly adequate to compensate for the moments when I do not have spotty, inconsistent access to computers at school. Due to an unexpected hiccup in my financial aid this semester, not only can I barely afford rent at the moment but I cannot purchase a new computer that I badly need. The funds that I raise here will go toward the purchase of a new laptop, as well as the necessary software and any additional incidental hardware needs to get myself back in business. For those of you who know me, you know how much hard work, patience, determination, and personal setbacks I have had to overcome in order to reach this point in my life. By contributing to my fundraising efforts, you will be helping to greatly reduce any unnecessary stress and anxiety that would be otherwise compounded by not having the tools I need to make my final year in grad school the success it ought to be! Because of my printmaking background, I have scads of lithographs, collagraphs, and mezzotints that I would happily part with as thank you gifts for anyone who makes a contribution. And for everyone who makes a donation whether they expect anything in return or not, THANK YOU!!! Your support, however small or large, is gratefully appreciated.
