Who this will help

Hi I'm Christy, a friend and former colleague of Michael Smith's. I write here on behalf of a very large group of people who love Michael, aka Smitty very much. He left a huge impact on us, not just as a colleague but as a friend, as a genuine, admirable, good human being. We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the sudden passing of Michael, and (honestly) still in shock. I don't know that I have enough words to describe Smitty's energy - He was so joyful and positive under any circumstance. He had a heart of gold and would brighten up your day with just a phone call to ask "Has anyone told you how awesome you are today?" And in the world we live in, we need more Smitty's in the world.

Why I'm fundraising

I've created this fundraiser as an act of love, and in memory of Smitty. Additionally, and most importantly, to help his family with any expenses related to the funeral & service. We understand that Smitty was head of household and want to help his family in anyway we can.
