Dear Friends,
My hometown Port-Salut is almost completely destroyed by Hurricane Matthew (category 4). It is the worst hurricane hitting the island in 52 years. The impacts of this hurricane are catastrophic.
Based on preliminary report, most of the houses in Port-Salut are either destroyed or seriously damaged. The people who didn't have much to begin with are left with nothing. They lost everyghing, including their homes, crops, churches, and schools. Most of the population of the City are homeless, hungry, and thirsty. It's a total humanitarian disaster.
We are working in close collaboration with the local Mayor to bring water, sanitation kits, solar lamps, and food to the victims. We are thus reaching out to you to see if you are interested in making a donation to help these victims.
Reunion Sportive d'Haiti is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and has operated in Port-Salut since 2010. We have staffs in the affected areas and know the people and the villages.
Thank you in advance for your support. Time is of the essence.
