Hello everybody. My name is Alexandria, I am 17 years old, and I am Miss Greater Kuna Teen 2016! I am running for Miss Teen Idaho 2017 on November 4th, and I hope I have immense support from my family and friends as I embark on this endeavor.
I have been an elite athlete all my life and if you asked me a year ago if I would compete in a pageant I would have said no way! But, the older I get the more bold I have become. The once crippling anxiety that swallowed me hole, has loosened its clutches long enough for me to spread my wings and believe in myself. In this moment I am reaching out to try things I would never have once considered. The sad reality is that the lack of confidence in young women like me is prominent in our society and is purpetuated by the media and pop culture. I am determined to break the mold and love myself, give myself a chance to feel beautiful and finally...master confidence and grace under pressure. Pageants arent about image, they are about giving young women the chance to speak their mind and show there intelligance as well as promote self love, civility and unity between women of all backgrounds. I am a hopeful candidate for this exact message to the young woman of Idaho as Miss Teen Idaho 2017.
So here I am, reaching out to all of my friends and family who have supported me throughout my life for its entirety or who are new to my wild ride as Alex. I need the help and support to make my dreams come true, (as corny as that sounds). This means very much to me and this GoFundMe is a last resort. I appreciate each and every single one of you for any kind thoughts and taking the time to hear me out and understand my story.
Much, Much Love,
Alexandria Wilson-Jenkins (Miss Greater Kuna Teen)
