Support Roy As He Recovers
Roy Mook is in a battle for his life. Roy has been a close friend to many, a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and most importantly, a Christ follower. Roy is not in this battle alone. His wife and kids have been at his side 24 hours a day, his friends, family and church have been praying for his strength and recovery.
Roy was admitted to Summa Hospital the last week of September where he was diagnosed with:
· Congestive Heart Failure
· Pneumonia
· Kidney Failure
· Fractured Vertebrae (5!)
· Kidney Failure
· Pancreatitis
· Multiple Myeloma
Roy has seen some improvement in his first 5 days of hospitalization. But he has a long way to go. He is expected to be in the hospital for another 5 weeks. This will likely be followed by months of recovery and rehabilitation.
We can’t understand what it is like to have our world come to a sudden stand still unless we have been in that situation. Things we take for granted become more precious.
Roy has very good health insurance. But it will not cover all of the cost of his care and future treatment. Roy and Susan are obviously are not working as they are in this together. As a matter of fact, it will be a very, very long time before Roy can go back to work.
We've established this fund to assist our dear friend and his family in dealing with these costs. This is one area that we can all do something tangible to help. We ask everyone to pitch in what they can for this important cause. We don’t know what the future holds which means we don’t know how high the costs will be. So please give as you feel led.
