On September 24th Faith Hugar was involved in a tragic roll over accident in Sandy Valley. After hitting a utility pole she was ejected from her vehicle and sustained numerous fractures and internal injuries including damage to her brain. Faith was flown to UMC trauma where she has undergone several surgeries. Her family has been by her side this past week, Julia and Luke have spent countless hours in prayer at the hospital as Faith has fought through her injuries.
If you know anything about Faith you know that she is a fighter, ironicly it was 2 years ago to the date of the accident that Faith was in the hospital fighting for her life as she faced her battle with addiction. For the last 2 years she has fought to put the pieces of her life together. She attended counseling both individually and with her family, she took control of her health and started a new life of sobriety. Faith has become a new person in these past 2 years, she reconnected with her children Jade and Julian and developed healthier family relationships and friendships. She experienced a new happiness and it was evident in her eyes and smile. We are so thankful to have had these last 2 years with her.
We are all heartbroken to be facing the inevitability that though Faith has such a fighting spirit, her body cannot survive the trauma it sustained in the accident. While she currently remains on life support, her injuries are irreversable and fatal. While it is impossible for us to understand why at this point in her new life she would be taken from us, we have to prepare to say goodbye to Faithy.
Coming from very little means, the family is unable to afford a fitting memorial service for Faith. She deserves to have a service to honor her memory and a time for her family and friends to come to gether and celebrate the life she fought so hard to create for herself. Any donation for her services will be greatly appreciated. It is so difficult at a time like this to mourn the loss of a family member, it is exponentially harder when you know that you can't say goodbye in the way you feel your loved one deserves. We thank you all for your love and prayers. We have all felt supported and held up by your thoughts during this difficult time.
