My husband and I have known our dear friends Kat and Wes and their two boys Brendon, 12, and Jordan, 10, from our boys' karate for several years now. We share the same love for family, friends, food, health, and laughter.
Wes has been battling a rare condition called pemphigus vulgaris which is an autoimmune condition. He had been working from home due to this condition. Unfortunately, Wes's health declined suddenly due to an infection five weeks ago. Wes has been fighting for his life in ICU since this time. Over the last five weeks, he was in cardio respiratory failure, suffered a stroke, and had renal failure. He currently remains on a ventilator. He faces many weeks of rehabilitation due to a stroke. Kat has been by his side every day during these diffucult weeks and has been taking extended leave from work. Her mother and other family have been taking care of the boys at home while Kat stays at Wes's side.
This cause is something dear to my heart. Our family has dealt with an emergency illness that required a lot of our family's time and energy. My nephew Louie suffered sudden brain damage from one day to the next at the age of three which changed our family's life forever. We understand the importance of friends and family taking care of each other in these times of need without the added stress of financial burdens.
Kat's energy has been focused on helping Wes's health improve, but with both Kat and Wes not working and with increased expenses, finances will also need to be considered. We ask for your prayers and support for the Zuzak family during this difficult time.
Money raised for this fund will provide needed living and medical expenses for the family and will allow Kat to continue to focus on Wes's recovery.
Your support would be immensly appreciated - including prayers and monetary of any amount.
Quote from Mother Teresa:
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
God bless.
